Water Bottle Rocket Launch! Monday, Aug. 22

The very popular Water Bottle Rocket event will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, August 22 in the rear of the Sudbury United Methodist Church. Please have each boy bring an empty 2 liter plastic bottle to decorate and use as a rocket. This event is open to all boys (and siblings) from grades 1-5, and we encourage scouts and parents to invite friends to join us and experience the fun of scouting. See you then!

Sudbury Clean Up

Dear Parents of Pack 60,

As many of you may know this Saturday, April 30th is Sudbury Clean Up Day. Let’s get together and do our part by helping. Pack 60 has been assigned to the Loring School on Saturday from 10am-11am. Bags will be provided for the clean up. Come join in the cleanup we would love your help!!! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 978-579-7923

Battleship Cove sleepover!

It’s back by popular demand!! Ask any kid who has been in Cub Scouts what their favorite activity was and chances are they will say the sleepover at the Battleship Cove!

This year’s details:

From: Saturday April 2nd (arrive 11am to 3pm)

To: Sunday April 3rd (between 9am and 4.30pm – your choice!)

Where: Battleship Cove, Fall River, MA.

Cost: $55 per person

YOU GET

Two days’ paid admission with overnight lodging on board a National Historic Landmark
Full, nutritious dinner, breakfast, and box lunch served in the battleship’s Officers’ Wardroom
Feature films shown on board Big Mamie

How do I sign-up?

To sign up please make out a check to Sudbury Pack 60 for $55 per person, write the names of the attendees on the memo section of the check and mail or drop off the check at the following address or bring your check to the Blue and Gold dinner on March 12th:

It’s registration time for pack 60!

Scouting offers your son opportunities and experiences that he will carry with him for the rest of his life. Cub Scouting offers boys in grades 1 – 5 a supportive environment organized by grade into dens up to 10 boys with two adult leaders. The dens meet once or twice per month to take part in activities designed to develop their self-esteem, creativity, and respect for one another as well as to learn good citizenship, health and fitness, outdoor skills, and social skills important for leadership in tomorrow’s world.

In addition to den meetings Pack 60 meets once a month from 6:30PM – 8:00PM Monday evenings early fall through the spring. We typically meet at Sudbury United Methodist Church. See what we did in 2009-20010. Individual den meeting times vary.

How do you join? Send the following information to Pack 60, c/o Neil Blicher, 21 Old Lancaster Road, Sudbury, MA 01776:

Summer Series

The second event in our summer series was a bike ride around the perimeter of the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge. It was a beautiful day for a 5 1/2 mile bike ride. We started off learning some bike maintenance and then we took our ride. We stopped several places along the way, most notable was an old military storage bunker!

Our next event is August 2nd at the church: Water rocket launch!

The Summer program has been set.

Campfire/Camp Out/Fishing Derby

Come join in on June 4th and 5th – we have decided to combine the end of the year campfire with the annual fishing derby this year AND a camp out!!

This event is open to all scout families and the campfire is open to those who are interested in joining scouts.

This is the general flow for the weekend:

Friday June 4th

5:00-6:00 Those sleeping over – arrive at the Maynard Rod and Gun club to setup Camp
6:30-8:00 Those just attending the campfire arrive for Campfire and ceremony
8:30 Those not staying over depart
9:00 Lights out

Saturday June 5th

6:00 Rise and shine – light breakfast
Fishing Derby (early bird catches the fish!)
10:00 AM Break Camp

Paw Sox Sleepover

Paw Sox Scout Sleepover was a great time. Many got to try their hand at pitching, a field clinic or to catch a game ball during practice and then spend the night on the outfield!!
