A Walk in the Woods on May 21 at 11:00a

Ever wonder how you can help Protect Sudbury?  Protect Sudbury needs you!!!  Do you have 1 1/2 hours to spare on Sunday from 11 – 12:30?

Please forward this email to all your friends and family.

Here are the details:

A Walk in the Woods on May 21, 2017 at 11:00 am, corner of Austin and Peakham Rd.   Protect Sudbury needs as many people to show up as possible.  Press will be there and the more people, the better press.

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

Wanted to let you know about a special event Protect Sudbury is hosting to raise awareness, get some good press, and make our legislators stand up and pay attention!

On May 21st at 11am, State Senator Jamie Eldridge, Representative Carmine Gentile (both of whom have been very supportive of our community) and invited press will be taking a walk in the woods with our community along the MBTA right of way where Eversource proposes to build the Sudbury-Hudson transmission line.

We’ll give Eversource and the EFSB something to read about! Park on Austin Road and meet your neighbors and friends on the corner of Austin and Peakham. Or walk directly from our neighborhood down the tracks to the event.  Wear comfortable walking shoes. The walk is approx. 1.5 miles in total and will be at a leisurely pace. We will walk to the trestle bridge and if the bridge will hold us all – take a great photo!

Please let me know if you can join us. We’d love to have you and your entire family there. Please spread the word and invite neighbors and friends!  The bigger the crowd, the better the press!

Who: Sudbury Community, Senator Eldridge, Rep. Gentile, invited press

What: A Walk in the Woods

Where: Corner of Austin and Peakham Rd

When: May 21st, 11am

Why: To gather as a community, hear invited guests speak about why this land is so special and worth saving, and to generate press interest in our cause!

Eagle Scout Project – Ice Skate Drive

Families of Pack 60, I have been contacted by Michael Farren – a Sudbury Troop 61 Eagle Scout – who has chosen to dedicate his Eagle Scout Project to helping Sudbury residents who wish to learn to skate.  He is constructing a skate bin to be kept at the JT Memorial rink (at Fairbank Community Center next to Haskell Field) every winter, and he wants to fill it with donated gently used skates of all types and sizes.  If you have any skates you would like to donate to this worthwhile cause, please drop them off at any of the three drop-off locations through March 30, 2017.

Locations: Goodnow Library; Thoreau Club; and The Fieldhouse.

Please see this Skate Drive Flyer for more details.

Cheers!
